ComTrade and Intel started a project of introducing Classmate computers to schools
In cooperation with Intel Corporation, company ComTrade has donated 30 Classmate computers, ComTrade Minibook, for students of Belgrade’s elementary school "Jovan Miodragović".
This donation is a support to Intel's global efforts for introducing information and communication technologies into everyday education, which will contribute the increase computer literacy of our youngest population. Intel’s activity "World Ahead" was greeted by numerous institutions, governments and companies in different countries, while Serbian partner on the project was ComTrade Group. The project will enable students and teachers in elementary schools to establish a new, contemporary and simple approach to studying.
Intel Corporation Chairman and President of ICT Global Alliance in UN Mr. Craig Barrett, Mr. Veselin Jevrosimovic President of ComTrade Group, Mr. Dragan Djilas Belgrade’s mayor, Mr. Vladimir Todic Secretary of Ministry of Education and President of Vracar municipality Mr. Branimir Kuzmanovic, visited the school during the donation. Companies Intel and ComTrade have plans for another donation to Vracar elementary school, with an aim of further investment in education.
ComTrade MiniBook is small, mobile and durable educational solution; it is powered by Intel’s mobile processor with ultra low power consumption.
This net book runs Microsoft Windows XP, while e-learning software installed on each computer brings learning through fun, collaboration and interaction between teachers and students, which makes it a modern study tool. CoolBook is the first series of ComTrade MiniBook computers.
